O Lord, protect Your ordinance
Against the shocks of Hatred’s lance;
Keep them together, side by side,
And let, between them, Love reside.
Father, cradle them in Your arms,
Protect them from injurious harm.
Through trials that the two will see,
Father, grant them fidelity.
Let her be like like blesséd* Mary,
And like Saint Joseph let him be.
Both strong, united, trusting You,
Eternal Father, bless them true!
And lastly, lay my fears to rest,
Knowing their love is by You blest**.
Let my petitions be increased
That Your blessing never be ceased.
