This poem was written for a friend of mine. She asked me to write a poem for her and her BF, and, she being my friend and all, I obliged. If you have a BF, a GF, or are a BF or GF, this poem goes out to you too.

To you, ordained by God to be
Each other’s friend perpetually:
May love between you two reside
Unshaken by the storm or tide.
You are each other’s love, and may
Your love increase through every day.
Though trials you will surely see,
God grant you both fidelity.
May you forever be the light
Which can dethrone each other’s night.
And if the world keeps you afar,
You are each other’s bright North Star.
And by that North Star’s guiding light
You’ll tread the stern, unfriendly night
To home, unscathed and with no harm,
The home found in each other’s arms.
